We are using this blog to introduce and inform people of our forthcoming exhibition Lawrence of Arabia and the Light Horse: the road to Damascus - the focus being the operations involving Lawrence and the Arab Revolt in the desert and the Australian Light Horse in Palestine, 1917-1918. The exhibition will open in December 2007 at the Memorial in Canberra and run over summer 2007-08.

We are not aiming to replicate all available knowledge about either TE Lawrence or the Light Horse and some of that information can be found in the links we provide from this blog.

We are interested in hearing from Australians (or anyone else) who have verifiable stories or memorabilia relevant to the exhibition, particularly relating to connections between Lawrence and Australians in Palestine.

We will be telling some stories about how we are putting the exhibition together and the items we will be displaying, but we will not be told how to do this. Feedback will be moderated and some may be put up on the blog, but we don’t have the resources to manage long arguments about historical interpretations of events.
