Thankyou for bringing to life what has always been an important part of my family's life.
Both of my Grandfathers and 2 uncles fought at Passchendaele all returned but it was a major influence on their future and therefore our lives.
I have been to the battlefields and surprisingly find them a calm and respectful place after the horrors that happened there and will be returning for the 90th year commemoration of the battle of Passchendaele at the Buttes cemetery and memorial Polygon Wood.
My Grandfather J.H. Harvey was in the 46th Bn, Grandfather J. H. Jose was a captain in the 38th Artillery, Ernest Jose was a ammunition column driver in the 38th Bn and J. N. Dennison was in the 43 Bn; all were West Australians from Leederville and Kellerberrin.

The focus now is on the mud of Passchendaele because it suits our current view of the war. The third step at Broodseinde was one of the greatest feats of arms in the First World War and should be remembered for what those men achieved.
